Sounds to me like someone trying to justify a purchase!
That said I agree that for the type of riding that YOU do the Griz would POSSIBLY be the best. I say possibly because with Arctic Cat coming out with a bike that has more horse power, torque, ground clearance than your Griz I think this one (with your beloved IRS) could outpace your quad of choice.
You fail to realize that not all of us ride over very large rocks or try to bury them in sink holes (some are smart enough to go around if possible).
For the riding I do my bike is perfect but that doesn't make yours pitifully insufficient. Enjoy what you ride
and let everyone else enjoy theirs.
If your hostility towards the Prairie is due to a couple of guys in your local club then by the way you talk you should be able to just leave them stuck on a trail or something while you go crawl over 10 ft tall rocks in a 15 ft deep mud hole while enjoying the ride of a Cadillac right?

[i]Couple of things to inform you on, first, the Grizz will and DOES beat the AC650 in a drag race, second, the last part of your post you are exactly CORRECT, third, there is infact 2 guys with prairies that ride in our group, I find it rather amusing when we go riding justifying their purchase because they can't follow us!!! Last but not least when did I ever say anything about a prairie until now???? I could have been talking about another quad all together, YOU said prairie, but most importantly, there is a button on here that says REPLY, you DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT have to use it! That simple, it is not ROCKET SCIENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As far as you not mentioning the Prairie it was only a matter of time before you did. Don't believe me.... go back and read your own posts.
So your Griz can out drag an AC650 huh? How about on the technical stuff? It has all of the goodies that your machine does only more of it but let me guess it still pales by comparison. **** from the sound of it when you pull off the seat there is a big "S" painted under it.
Maybe we should all get rid of anything that is different from yours. But wait.... then what would you b1tch about. Would you have to go to the Kids forum and preach to them the evils of a solid rear axle?

I don't have to READ about how the HMMWV handles the technical stuff. I have driven them for years. They are wonderful, but they are awfully heavy and slow. Not attributes you want when the **** gets deep and you are out gunned!
As far as you not being able to go where they can how about going to the front of the pack on a straightaway? I know I know speed isn't your thing......blah , blah, blah,,,....

I've written a explaination of what drives this it is in the ATV addiction section under warning. Tellico I hate to agree with these guys and sound like I'm trying to fight with you. I'm not but I keep seeing your posts show up when ever someone says anything about how good they think their Prairie is. Seems to really hit a nerve with you, I think maybe the frequency of the V-Twin exhaust note must trigger some horrible childhood memory that causes you to flame out. Must have first noticed this noise really bothered you about the time the magazines all picked the Prairie as their shoot out winners. A simular problem appeared for many Prairie owners when Honda came out with the Rincon and the mags payed it homage picking it their shoot out as the winner. Caused Prairie owners to become irrational over the sound of that transmission and any mention of the machine caused a typing frenze. This afliction goes away to be replaced with a new one when the mags start worshipping another new wonder quad. The sport quad guys are having a terrible time since the mags can't decide if the new Honda 450 or the Yamaha 450 is the best. Driving them totally crazy since to top it off they know Suzuki is going to come out with a 450 any day. Some of this can be explained by the ink that rubbs of on your fingers when you drool on the magazine pictures (causes terrible chemical fumes that depending on you body chemistry can really react in terrible ways) There is a version of this reaction that effects all the quad owners I know mention Tree Hugger and the chemicals we have inhaled really gets to us and we all flip out. So this is more of a I understand than an attack on you.

It really comes down to the riding style of the owner more than what some bike jockeys at the magazines thinks. Not to mension brand loyalty. If you do a lot of sport riding, then yes, the obvious answer would be solid axles rule. Now if you are the kind of person who is like me and enjoys crawling over anything that hasn't moved sence I squared up to it, then IRS rules.
It doesn't matter if were talking about a 125 or a 700, a solid or IRS. THEY ALL HAVE THEIR PLACE ON THE PLAYGRAOUND!
Another thing to keep in mind is that you may be the biggest and the baddest on the block TODAY, but, EVENTUALLY A BIGGER AND BADDER KID IS GOING TO MOVE IN RIGHT NEXT DOOR.
JUST RIDE
