Arctic cat 650 or Grizzly 660?
#21
I haven't had the opportunity to ride the AC650 yet so I can't say much about it. I can say that I love my Grizzly. I had an 01, that had the overheating problem, but they seem to have fixed that in the 04's. You can't go wrong with the Griz.
I did notice that the dgital dash sat up really high on the cat. If you ever got it upside down, it's a goner. On the Griz it is somewhat protected because it's down lower, although I'm sure it could be damaged also, maybe not so easily.

Being a Grizzly 660 owner I will try and give my opinion. I love my grizzly I wouldnt part with it for anything. My brother-n-law is getting ready to buy an AC650. Ive not ridden it but looked it over pretty good and read some specs on it. It should be a great machine also it has more ground clearence than my grizzly, bigger tires, and more travel, also it has a cool reciever hitch. The only negatives I could say about the AC650 and its my opinion is I dont like the one brake lever on the handle bars , I also dont like the Front Diff. Lock I like the one on my Grizzly better but that is my opinion and I also like the way my Grizzly looks compared to the AC650, but to say which is superior I cannot right at the moment but in a few weeks I should be albe to give you an unbiased opinion. You are just going to have to go ride both machines and see which you like better. An also the grizzly is liquid cooled just as is The AC650. I dont think you will regret buying either of these quads.

First of all, I want to thank everyone for thier opinion. I made up my mind and bought the AC650 and couldn't be happier. I like it much more than the Grizz I had ridden before. (This is why I had insisted on IRS). If anyone else is thinking one way or the other, I gotta reccomend the AC.
See you on the trails,

Congradulations! Very smart buy! A tough machine with a very reliable engine. And you must know that there is every performance mod you want for your engine since it is the same as Prairie 650 and a new Dyna Fs Cdi (unleashing more power from bottom till top end) will be available beginning April! Enjoy!

good choice man, i must admit i sell arctic cats. and i wanted to throw in an opinion, I have sold quit a few prarie 650's, i sold one 2002 just friday. I must say that the prairies i have sold, were no faster than the new cat650, as a matter of fact i would put my money on the cat, maybe it is just perception but the cat seems faster. I know in the 400 class the cat is probably the slowest. but in the mud they are awsome.
We have sold about 6 650s now, none have come back so far. one guy called about a clicking sound, but he hasnt brought it in. Here in florida we had to battle the old.
"who make arctic cat" thing all the time. Believe it or not, we dont sale many snowmobile's down here. but in the last couple of years that doesnt happen anymore. Everyone want and knows about A.C. We used to have to sale our cats against HONDA , SUZ, KAW, POLARIS, YAM. now we have to sale against other cat dealors, they are going to buy a cat. Just from who. ok ,,, later people.

We've got some pretty good trails around here, but from what I hear you guys have the market cornered on rocks out there. I'd like to ride Moab one of these days, but I want to wait until I get my Jeep built for that.
