Fron locking differental
I was looking on some other forums and i saw that the Prarie front differental lock you have to hold the lever down while your driving it. Could someone tell me if this is better or worse than the Kodiak 450 lock? I don't think I have any Kawasawi dealers around here so i can't go look at one.

The diffi lock on the kawi works on the the theory of the more you pull the more it locks. This is a shift on the fly, and it is etreamly fast to use. If you want it to lock on thou you need a small quick release strap to wrap the lever to the handle bar. I have one but I don't use it too often. I though I would use it all the time but I don't. The lever also does not have any tension on it so it's not hard/tiredsome to use. I like the setup on the kawi better, but others might prefer the lock on the Yams. I think the main point here is you got a diffi lock. The Lock on the yams you have to move a slider over and press an other button... meaning you basically have to stop and switch it and it can also can freeze up. transmisson fluid will prevent it from freezing.

The locker on the Yamaha is a good one as long as you come to a stop and make sure the light stops flashing before you start moving. This is just like the locker on my King Quad as you have to stop then engage. I use the locker to pull heavy loads up steep hills or crawling thru the mud and rocks so stopping to engage is no big deal as I am going slow in these situtations in the first place.AlaskaBoy.
