Why do polaris mechanics work so much overtime ?
Is it because the Vinson mechanics can't keep up and they ask for help from the Polaris guys?

We should quit telling everyone about how great our suzukis are, that way when we want to buy a new one again the dealer will have them in stock plus Don't you just love pulling out a polaris out of mud holes? We would forget how great our rides are if everyone had one.

Hello quadduck. Good point. I agree that Suzuki makes good quads, I especially like the Z250 and Z400. Polaris also makes good quads, I particularly like the Sportsmans. Honda makes good quads, I like the ex models. Artic Cat makes good quads, I like the DVX400. And Bomb makes good quads, I like the DS650. And don't forget Kawasaki with the KFX700. And last but not least, the Yamaha Raptor 650.
Have a great day.

Is is because Polaris is selling so many Sportsmans that the only thing Polaris mechanics do now-a-days is prep brand new Sportsmans?

Nope, not yet.
Is it because Sportsmans are so reliable that Polaris mechanics have taken up servicing Matag appliances?

Red face can the bomby get some love?

I own a 2003 bomby quest 500 4x4 and the thing is a beast!!!! I also own a 2005 brute 750 and to just clarify the argument about solid rear axle and IRS, If you live in colorado like I do, then you definately want irs. But back to the bomb., They may not be the best rideing atv or the best handleing ,but you cannot beat the rotax engine!!!! It is heads and shoulders above the rest when it comes to power and overall engineering, these motors are absolutely bullet proof!!!!!! And the visco lok 4x4 systems work great. Now I'm not going to claim that they are going to win drag races or out jump a 450R but when it is used for what it was intended.....(working, pulling or climbing), it is a hard one to beat. That's why John Deere wanted this motor behind thier name. Recently we had a pull off between my bomb 500 and a king quad 700 and I could still be pulling him if I had enough gas. lol

I personally have seat time on all of these models, and would hands-down pick the Outlander. It has the most power in its class, it rides smooth, the 4WD works great, it is sporty yet still maintains all utility functionality and it handles amazingly well under all circumstances. It's just an all around great ATV. Throw in a current model with the XT package and you get front and rear bumpers, handguards, winch, power steering, 650W magneto, cast aluminum rims and aggressive trail tires for a great deal, much cheaper than buying it all aftermarket.

Power curves:

Can-Am Outlander 500 - 40.4 hp
Polaris Sportsman 550 - 40.2 hp
Suzuki King Quad 500 - 38.2 hp
Yamaha Grizzly 550 - 36.9 hp
Arctic Cat 550 - 35 hp
Honda Rubicon 500 - 33.4 hp

The Polaris' I have owned and the ones that ride with us (over 20 total), have all had problems. They are only the best selling ATV because they build them poorly just to push them out quick and cheap. What kind of company is so cheap that they charge you for engine braking, when it is standard on any other make?
