I hit a rock and cracked the hole of my drain plug on my kawasaki and was wondering if it could be welded and then I would put in a helicoil. Thanks

Im glad im not the only one lol. I think its cast so you cant weld it, a heli coil might work mine just broke the top of the bolt so I was just able to buy a new one dont know about yours. Good luck

Its possible to weld cast aluminum, but whats gonna be a bitch, it makeing sure all of the oil is out of the crack. That will keep the weld job from being a solution. When welding aluminum, the area needs to be queeky clean. If youre pulling the motor, and are willing to get the area spotless, itll work to weld it.
Your best bet is JB weld. Clean the area, very good. Put the jb weld on, according to the directions, and it should be good to go. If the threads need to be fixed up, then either chase it with a tap, after the jb weld, and if thats not good enough, then helicoil.
