My drain plug hangs below my skid plate on my bayou and I am afraid of it getting hit with a rock. Is this normal? Is there anything I could do like put something over the plug to prevent it from getting hit? Thanks

No, I had to put an oversized drain plug and it sticks out more than the other

You may be able to take a short piece of pipe and weld it to the skid plate to form an armored ring around the exposed plug. This method is used on some farm and construction equipment to protect zerk fittings and other vulnerable items.

Is the oversize plug the kind that has another plug inside of it? If not then you could try grinding down the excess metal on the plug.
