Default Hard learned lesson.

Just got back from my buddies house and he was changing the oil on his 04' grizz. To make a long story short, he stripped the threads on the oil drain hole. Not the bolt but the hole. I asked him if he tourqued it to specs and as you probably already know he didn't. He didn't have one so he use a rachet. So, to all you Grizz and other aluminum engine owners out there go out and purchase a tourque wrench it will save you in the long run.

Default Hard learned lesson.

Been there done that.......I don't use a torque wrench....but a 1/4" ratchet, that way I know I'm not getting it too tight.......

He can have it drilled and put an incert in it. It's not a big deal, just a pain. I don't use a torque wrench either but have never had a problem.

Really not that big of a deal. Just drill and tap it, but you'll have to get a bigger drain plug. Make sure you flush it out went your done. I agree though, a pain in the butt.

Yeah, good advice. I use a 1/4 drive "T" handle and socket, by hand. I know they strip out in a heart beat.
