Default Cutting Mud Flaps

I will be getting larger tires next month. I have decided on Mudlite 27". I have already put on a liftkit and wheel spacers in the past couple of weeks preparing for my tire upgrade. I now have noticed the back tires are VERY close to the stock mud flaps (3/4"-1") from rubber to plastic.

I think the front flaps are not going to be a problem but the backs will be a issue. Has anyone had to modify your mud flaps. If so what did you cut them with and how did you cut them. I guess another option would be to just remove them. Any opinions would be much appreciated.

on the side of your mud flap you will notice a lip that sticks back farther than the rest of the mud flap, You will have to trim that. I will try to have my pictures on here sometime late this week or early next so you can see what I am talkin about.
