The king quad is a single cylinder utility with double a arm suspension and independant rear suspsension.

The twin peaks is a prairie clone with a v twin engine and a solid rear axle.

The handling charachteristics are very different between these two atvs. Each type is suited better for different types of riding and different types or riders.

There are plenty of threads comparing the kq to the brute force to the twin peaks to the prairie to the grizzly. Do a quick search in the yamaha, suzuki and kawasaki forums and you will have tons of reading material on your hands.

Default king Quad vs twin peaks

The King Quad and Twin peaks have many differences. Yamaha has a YFZ450, a Raptor and a Banshee. Each quad will appeal to a certain niche group in the in the ATV community. Given a choice most people would chose a the 450 over a Raptor to race MX or GNCC courses. The same people will most likely choose the raptor for a trip to the dunes with the family. The Banshee with some after market stuff fits wherever people want it to. So why does Suzuki offer two 700CC quads? To fill two different markets. The twin Peaks with a SRA will be much more appealing to racers, fast trails and people using a quad to move heavier loads. The KQ with EFI and IRS will appeal to a different market. While the quads have a lot of crossover market appeal they are more different then similar. I Think a better question is why do companies like Polaris Make 400, 500, 600, 700, 700EFI quads with little or no difference other than engine displacement.

Apples and oranges. Do you want a single cylinder or V-Twin? Do you want EFI or traditional carbeuration? Do you want IRS or SRA? It's all down to rider preference. Out of the box, the TwinPeaks/Prairie is probably a tad bit faster. The KingQuad handles extremely rough terrain a tad better. Both are exceptional in every aspect of 4x4 riding though. Take your pick. As for the Grizz and the KingQuad, due to the slight power advantage and slightly better suspension setup, the King probably takes top honors there. TwinPeaks vs. Grizz= once again, take your pick.
