Default Tires for the big 4x4's, what's your take?

Has anyone ever had to replace their Mud Lites due to wear and tear? I'm just trying to get a feel on how long these will last me?

Here is my take on tires tearing up the pasture.

IMO any tire aggresive or not can chew up the ground good. I say do NOT base your tire purchase on if it will leave a rut. All tires do. Stay out of the mud and dont hot rod around and it will not damage your grass/ground.

In my pasture the mowing tractor has way bigger tires (more aggro) and is about 15 times heavier. I have to stay out of the mud or just dont mow while it is wet.

Good luck on your tire purchase.....

Other than mudlites (which everyone seems to like), any more recommendations on a good trail tire with improved trail and mud performance without being a "mud tire"? I understand that some of the new radial trail tires are quite good.

Kenda Bearclaws are a great all purpose tire. If I was keeping my 360 I would buy the Kenda B/claws.

I have 27" gators and use them for alot of trail riding and mud. They perform awesome in the mud, my friend has 28" laws and the gators keep up in the mud and ride ALOT better on trails

I love all the tires ITP has! I got the holeshots on my V-Force (stock) Bought 22inche mudlights for the rear but needed somethin taller, wider, and just plain nasty tread. So i bought 25x12x10 ITP 589's and they are mudders for sure! I think they do great on the trails. I got plenty of power to turn them big tires! They are 6 ply so basically you won't get punctures. They got huge lugs. They are really heavy though but that wasn't an issue with me. I used to have ITP black waters on my 2001 mojave and those are kick *** tires too. ITP is the way to go. They'll git the job done!

I think the 589's get a bad reputation for ripping up ground, don't get me wrong they can. I just think it is more situational riding. The reason the ground gets ripped up with mudder's is how you drive with them, if you slide the back end around or hit the gas hard on the soft stuff of coarse it is gonna rip things up. At the same time, you can rip up ground with stock tires too. If you are at a dead stop and hammer on the throttle, you can spin the tires and cause ruts right there, where if you have 589's (or any aftermarket tire) you with grip and go, no ruts.

There will always be a tire debate, but I think it is on the rider as much as the tire.

Dirt wheels seemed to think that goodyear mudrunners where a great mud and trail tire. They rate them high in there 25 inch comparison in both trail manners and mud. they where the winner if I remember.

I have no personal experience with these tire but they sure seemed to like them. and they come in 26's and 27,s too.

here is link to the place I saw the review.
