You cant put a bandaid on a broken leg. I think that polaris is going to have some real problems with thier 800. I think they put it out there to fast. Id give it time before you make a solid decision. Just think about putting $1500 in a brute. It would be unstopable. Then compare it to a stock sp800. Its the same price. There is alot of diff views to look at here. Some are more clear then others.

 

You also have to remember that the SP 800 is not a true 800 but like a 760 or something. And let's not forget the extra weight you are going to get on the SP; I believe it weighs more than 150 pounds more than the BF.

IMO the KQ is the best all around machine. I think I would wait anohter year for the 2006s to come out that way all the compainies can tweak these new monsters. I can't wait to see the shootouts too.

 

Where are you guys getting a $1500 difference? $7599 for BF and $8599 for sp800. Thats a $1000 not $1500. It will take more then half that to get comparable tires and rims for the BF. Then another $200 to get anykind of storage for the BF if you want to carry anything. Then you still don't have dual exhaust. Then when you do put tires and rims plus storage on the BF, there will be less then a 100lbs difference in weight.

well, the local polaris dealers are crap around hear they will charge retail plus some. i dont know why maybe they just dont sell as many here. And the same goes for the bombadier and suzuki dealers they are major con artists and a big ripoff, you walk in to there show rooms and no one says anything to you but not to sit on their machines. there is a major dealer here who sells artic cat, kawasaki, honda, and yamaha. you cant beat their prices around hear and their service is good. that where my price difference comes into play. The storage compartment on the front of the sportsman can hold what, a map maybe. dual exhaust blah, parallel twins sound wimpy no matter what you do. and the rims are ghetto chrome. no offense to anyone. some else may love it but i dont thats all. sorry BornDirty. i'm sure you love your atv as i love mine. if tires and storage determine a major purchase then i dont know what to say. my storage on the brute always changes to differing rides, sometimes 3 bags sometimes none. and tires change and where out as well, i have my stock tires and rims for easy trail rides summer and fall, and i have 27" mudlites on itp rims for winter and spring. my choice for the came down to performance and price not if it had bling bling rims, storage compartments, or great stock tires. i didnt mean to ramble or make anyone mad its just how i looked at it.

 

You are very true about some dealers in different from area to area but the end product never changes. I know what you are saying and where you are comming from but I look at it like this:

You don't ride on the showroom floor so who cares. The customer service may be crap but if they are selling the best product then buy it and be happy on the trails. As far as I know there's no rule saying to have to go back to the dealer just because you bought their product. How many of you have returned to a car dealership after buying a new car? Not me.

 

I was looking at the KQ the brute and the 800. the kawi after taxes would cost me more than the 800. I have not personlly seen the new 05 pols yet but, I am familar with them and have had no probs with the 1 I have nor has my buddys 700. I will go look at the king tomorro. I have also heard of alot of tire rod probs with the brute so I will more than likely get the 800

 

borndirty whatever you will buy will be bad *** they all are. isnt it great[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] the dealer thing didnt determine what i would buy i was just saying they are terrible and that the price they were selling at was not realistic. i 'm sure somewhere else there are great polaris, suzke dealers and such and bad kawi, honda, yami dealers i'm just saying i liked the brute better and the price just added to my decision ya know.

All I can tell you is whatever you get you'll be the envy of your friends. You can't go wrong with any of these. The only advice I can give is make the dealers let you take each of them for a spin. IMO that's the least they can do if you're spending this kind of money.

Remember this; when you're on the trail having fun the name on the side of your machine makes no difference. Good luck with your new machine.

 

With all the new features on the 05s I would go with the Sportsman.
