I wonder how much seat time youve had on a brute. It rides you?? Thats not close to be true. Your post was a sad attempt to get people to like your atv.

I just went through this same dimlemma. I personally do not need the biggest engine available to make myself feel like I can "fit in" or "keep up with the Joneses". The best advice I can give is either find a dealer that will let you test ride or find a friend that has the quad you like and take for a spin. I thought the KQ was good looking and very comfortable to sit on. The Brute Force I was able to sit on and ride in a parking lot. I personally did not care for the bike. Great engine, but I just wasn't that comfortable. The Grizzly felt comfortable to me althought the KQ slightly more. It had all the features I wanted and had been around a while. If the KQ had been out for a year or two I would have definately given that one more thought. I ended up getting a Grizz and couldn't be happier. All of these quads are great quads. All have there issues. It what you like and feel the most comfortable on.

ATV action just hit the stand and has a big bore shootout in it. 2 of the 3 quads originaly asked about were in it, plus the 2004 champ the prairie 700. The Prairie held on to a close second and a recomendation as the best choice for more sport oriented riders. The KQ took the prize and the BF750! took 3rd. They said they left out the Rincon and the Grizz since they had been beaten several times in past comparisons by the Prairie's. So what they did was take the 2004 champ and pit it against the new quads on the block, Polaris failed to send them a 800 for the test so it was not included. The KQ won the shootout for bening the most well rounded and EFI. The BF750 was the fastest and the Prairie was right behind it. The KQ was the slowest in the test but still won the overall. The overall ratings put both the KQ and the Prairie at 5 stars and the BF 750i at 4 stars. Its a good article, I am getting pretty discusted with Polaris not showing up for these test. I can agree most of the article and would say the polaris had it been there would have likely finished 3rd or 4th in this group. It would have won cudo's for its racks and inovations and lost for its handeling and weight.

Most of what you read now, was done many months ago, the 800 was not even out when dirt wheels did there shootout, that just came out this month, but they tested KQ, BF and a 700 polaris, order of finish in the test was KQ, polaris with brute last, These test units used for the mag shootouts are stock production units, 800 wasn't released till early dec, tests done on single models not aganist others will use a pre- model run proyotype as in early tests of the 800, kq and BF, The KQ and BF were released way back at the end of summer, thats why they are in these tests not because Polaris did not choose to send one.

Dirt wheels did a test on the 800 the month before they did the shootout.

Oledad was right about the early testing being done on preproduction quads on Polaris terms. He maybe right, AtV action didn't say when the testing took place. maybe they will do it again in a future issue when one is available. I think DW is planning a realy big test sometime soon, maybe next months issue.

The Grizzly is not as powerful as the King Quad, which is not as powerful as the Brute Force. However the Grizzly is a good overall machine. It is comfortable to sit on, has a comfortable ride, can handle technical terrain rather easily and doesn’t handle that bad at speed (although if you are trying to be the fastest rider in the woods both the Brute Force and especially the King Quad handle better). Unlike the Brute Force it will go into 4WD mode right away (even if stopped) when you push the button. The Brute seems to need to roll forward some before the 4WD engages after toggling the switch.

The King Quad is very similar to the Grizzly from what I understand when it comes to the CVT and the 4WD system and that is a proven design. The Grizzly has not changed much since 2002 (I have a 2002 model and it has been very reliable).

The Brute is a lot of fun if you are power hungry because it has that in abundance. It has a firm seat (not as comfortable as the other two) and rather stiff suspension. It can take some getting used to though if you are trying to ride slow over rough terrain. If the trails open up more though the Brute is a blast to ride. It handles erosion ditch jumping really well too, better than the Grizzly does for instance...

Hello I have an 02 Griz w/ 27" mud bugs, almost 3300 miles and I run it though the nastiest stuff Alaska has to offer.
Hands down Grizzly or 05' 450 Kodiak.

The first test on the 800 if you read it says it was a pre-productin model for promotion such as these type mag tests, the atv article said that they were at a event and the dealers gave them the models to ride, the shootout was their idea, being they had them for the day, But do your own test, ride all you are interested in, make your own decision,
