Default what do you heat up your lunch with when out on the trail

I would like to know what every one uses for a source of heat for cooking lunch when on your bikes.
I've tried many and spent some big bucks on some stoves. one I recently bought called a Irish Kelly Kettle sells for 75$ + tax from Lee Valley Tools. it is a wood burning kettle that heats 3 cups of water in 6min. , great for the no need to carry fuel just grab a branch and you have enough wood . for a pic of the kelly kettle go to leevalleytools. and punch in kelly kettle .

the other stove is so simple ,it can be seen on my pic page. it is the most fuel efficent, lightest, toughest for size , easiest lit , and easiest made stove on the net . I surffed many a site to come up with a good set of plans.
2 pop can bottoms , a strip in between, and a screw. burns like a burner on your propane stoves. I have plans I can email if anyone is interested. big_gord@hotmail.com

I use a portable grill. It's about 10x14 grill top with short folding legs. As for fuel we either use branches from the woods or self lighting charcole. The grill goes for about $18 at Sportsman Warehouse. The best part is you don't have to carry propane. IMO it's far better than any stove and you don't have to worry about breaking it or refueling fuel source.

Hey Outrage, where you been riding lately? I rode up Jim Creek yesterday. Maybe 5 inchs of ice on it, superhighway. Rode the edges of the Knik River. Open water and overflow in lotta spots.

Yeah, Jim Creek is about the only place to ride right now due to real deep snow everywhere else. I ride with quite a few guys but most of us are taking a break due to the Football playoffs.

Have you checked out our web site yet? It's www.arctictrails.net. We have lots of good stuff and post all our rides. If you want to see the trail posts you'll have to register. Check it out! We've been getting about 4 to 8 riders during the winter but can get up to 20 riders when it warms up. The riders range from 14 to 60 and we ride at a speed suitable for everyone. We nearly always have a barbque midway on the trails and love to have a good time.

There are some neat little appliances that you can plug into your accessory outlet available on the market. You can get kettles , food warmers and grills...Etc. at Canadian tire. A power inverter can turn all your home appliances into accessory outlet friendly trail appliances. The smaller inverters are now really cheap. I normally just bring a Coleman stove and some naphtha...or a one burner peak stove. The pop can..sardine..can stoves are pretty neat EH ? A guy I work with has made several different can stoves and is continually tweaking his designs and styles.

Boy, you guys are way ahead of us when we go out riding. We don't heat up anything. We just eat sandwiches and other 'cold' stuff. It never occurred to me to heat anything . We may not get as cold here in the high desert as you 'North Pole' guys, but it's damned cold anyway, and during the summer, it can be hot as hell and hot food is never an issue - ha.

But it's good to see what you guys are doing just in case...
