Default Performance upgrade for 99 Big Bear 350

I would like to increase the performance of my 1999 Big bear 350. Any ideas that won't break the bank? I've heard lots of talk regarding "Cobra" exhaust but I don't see that much gain in overall performance.

I have a 99 as well. I replaced the stock filter with K&N, re-jetted (a few times), and installed a Supertrapp IDS2. MAJOR GAINS. I am very impressed with the power it has now. If you go with a jet kit, the instructions that came with mine were way off as to what jet to use, and where to place the c-clip on the needle. Post up if you have troubles and I will dig out my notes to save you the hours of trial and error. I saw gains with just the filter and jetting, but then jetting again and the IDS2 blew me away.

Good luck.

I just ordered the HMF utility series, along with K&N filter/outerwears and jets. I dunno when it will be here yet, but when I get it all installed and tweaked I will post my findings. I've heard that the gains are very noticable and that you wont be dissapointed. I spent 320 bucks for my stuff. Tires are next, thinking about either Dirt Devils or Mud-lites.
