I have a 2" hitch ball that is held on with a bolt. Nice as it doesn't have that shank (that I can cut I guess), or the fat nut that sticks down and gets hit on stuff occasionally. The bolt head is definitly lower profile and more desirable.

Anyone know where I can find a shankless 1 7/8" ball thats held with a bolt rather than a nut. I've looked almost everywhere.

You might want to try Harbor Freight or Cummins Tools. They have all kinds of hardware, tools, etc.

 

Hey propnut, I remembered that I saw a ball like you are referring to at a local farm supply store called Rural King. This is a link to their websiteLink. The pic on the site is not the internal thread ball, but I double checked with the Acme site and the p/n 90-24 is a internal thread ball. You can order from them or maybe check with local Acme supplier and they can order that p/n for you. Hope this helps...Bruce

Also I will be soon pulling my father-in-laws boat back to the river soon, we hooked up the other day, and the new Kodiak with the Wetlands pulled it very well with little sag in the rear.

I have that same problem, the hitch bottoming out ,I never gave it much thought and never herd of a nutless BALL HEHE ,I'm going to see if the local Ace has one in stock .

I called ACE. Had them check their stock. Of course when I get there they don't have any.

So I called ACME manufacturing, from the site captainskodiak linked. They sold me one direct as there is no distributor in my area

Propnut they are wearing very well, showing no wear with about 150 miles of all types of riding. I have found they don't do real well in the sand. I was on a sand bar along the river on Good Friday morning, and found what I call quicksand, buried it to the bumpers in about 10 seconds, winched out. I don't ride on the sand too often so I am not too concerned about the digging in, and burying it. I did high center it again latter that day, in a really deep rutted area where large 4 wd trucks had previously been hung up. I winched about 5 feet to the side then regained the ground (mud) contact, and it went right thru, them babies will eat. Overall well pleased. Did it finally thaw out so you can give yours a workout? We are going to Coal Creek in TN the last week of April, so a real test is coming...Bruce

 

just little rides around my area and dragged a couple trees cut in 10' sections out into the woods. No traction issue at all. The official trails in Massachussets open May 1st. Haven't been up to NY since purchase, but I've got about 80 miles on them. Wear hasn't shown yet.

Sounds like any tire would have sunk in that sand. No pictues yet? Wanted to see how the 25s look.

I know this thing doesn't slide like it used to, going to have to keep that in mind so I don't HS!

 

The pics on my page are of the 25's with the exception of the ones in the snow. I know it is really muddy, but that is the only ones I have taken lately. I will get some more soon with it a little closer and with less mud. The rears are 11" ( the stock were10") so they throw a little more mud, and in larger clumps.
