What do you ride in or on?? I just bought some new Maxxis Bighorn radials, they look like they should be OK for what we do.

I'm running the forests of the Pacific NW.....Oregon.
This Eiger is used in Search and Rescue......snow is the biggest obstacle. Believe it or not, the stock tires have done an excellent job......1600 miles, no flats (slimed) and has out-performed some of the big Cats and Grizzly's with after market, very aggressive tires. The lighter weight may have helped me here.

I like the 26 inch Dirt Devils. They're usually a little cheaper than the Mud Lights. They're not too heavy and good for all types of terain.

Dirt devils are a pretty good choice I have them on my polaris. They have worn really well (slowly) and arent very expensive. I just put Maxxis Sur-traks on my Wolverine the traction is great but I dont know about the wear. Seems like they are pretty tough so far though.

I understand that the ITP ATR's work very well in snow. One problem expressed with aggressive mud tires is that they tend to dig down into deep snow. Radials also tend to ride better. I have the same question on tires for going from hard pack (fire roads) to trails (roots & rocks) with some mud (but not deep, sticky clay crap, just general mud).

I run 26" Dirt Devils and they're exceptional in the snow. We had a blizzard about 10 days ago here, and I was cruising through 18" or so of heavy wet snow without *any* problems at all. I've tried them in mud and they do pretty well there too.

Prong, do you have the XT's or the AT's? I'm really lookin at the 26" XT's. They look to be a good allround tire, and grip pretty well in the mud too. Plus, I think they look better than Mudlights.

I have the XT's. Unless something has changed within the last 6 months, all DD's from 26" and up are the XT's (1 1/4" tread). I think they're pretty hard to beat for a general purpose tire.
