Mile Marker Winch
#2
Dang, I saw the subject line and jumped in here hoping to find out something....... I've pretty much decided to try a Mile Marker myself for my wife's ATV. I put a Ramsey remote 2500 on mine, but I wouldn't do the wireless again. Can't see the point for the extra money. And besides, it was a pain in the butt to install.
I got the CD from Mile Marker and was inpressed with the info. And, if the military is using them, they can't be all bad. I've got a Warn 12,000 on my pickup and it works fine. Pulled out all our juniper bushes and trees with it - And I haven't had the need to use the Ramsey on my ATV yet, but I know it will work fine. And, I have no hesitation about ordering the Mile Marker when the time comes. I was impressed with their informative CD.
Contrary to popular belief, the world does not revolve around Warn or Ramsey (of, for that matter, SuperWinch).

I agree - the Mile Marker looks pretty good. It looks REALLY good for the price, I am seeing them for under $175 shipped to my door doe a 2500lbs winch with warranty. I figure it is worth a try. I noticed no one has said anything bad about them so that is also a good sign!

Wow, I hadn't priced them yet, but if you're right at $175, that's almost half what I paid for my wireless remote Ramsey.
Get out of my way! I'm buying one...

MM2500 is a china made winch of good materials and IMHO very poor assembly. The warranty service is excellent. The mm2500 ships with loose housing screws and too much cable for the spool. It is NOT water sealed in any way. The mm2500 can be modded to become a very good waterproof winch which
I used to pull a warn 2500 on a grizzly660 into a mudhole (winch against winch). Buy the winch if you like to tinker. Put it on a warn mount. waterproof it with gaskets and RTV. Cut 8' of cable off the spool. Tighten the housing screws and use locktight blue. Make a fine winch if you try. The service dept is real a class act. If you want to spend the bucks for a solid winch out of the box Get a warn2500.
