atv magazine woes

i hate to tell u this bud but all the magazines do this. ... i dont know which mag but this very issue was discussed and they said that they use old MLB radar guns and well basically said a bunch of bull poo... they never admit when theyre wrong they just tried to cover it up by saying altitude, terrain, etc....
the mags have a tendancy to LIE!

red goblin, it was [ATV MAGAZINE] (spring) issue and their web address is atvmagonline.com. make sure not to e-mail "atv sport". pick the "editor of atv magazine.
as far as the altitude issue goes, they're based in minnesota and their the same as wisconsin(where i'm from) and my grizz does 63-64

I did read that article. They don't know what they're talking about. they must have faulty radar equipment because I've heard from more places than one that the King Quad can do 72mph and I've gotten mine to 61mph easily I just ran out of room. They need to get new radar equipment so they can stop lieing to the public.

I'd be quite curious as to how all the speed measurements were done. Several factors I can think of.
RADAR guns have to be calibrated every so often (or did as of a few years ago).
Many ATVs I have seen have wildly inaccurate speedometers.
Many ATVs have non-stock tire sizes coupled with the above inaccurate speedometers.
I've never used a GPS that gave too terribly accurate speed measurements either. My old Magellan unit was off anywhere between 10-30 MPH on average.
