Default Help my dad pick a new big-bore.

I have a brand new Yamaha Grizzly 660 and it is awesome! If your dad buys a grizzly he'll love it. It was made to do anything from play to work. It will pull anything in reason. It will keep up with a Honda 400EX. It tops out about 70MPH. It rides awesome. It has everything you would want. The bigger big bores just cost more and are just a little stronger and faster but don't ride as smooth and aren't as light. It's 165 POUNDS lighter than Polaris Sportsman 800 and $1500.00 cheaper. It has the most ground clearance than any other big bore atv!

They didn't come out with a Sportsman 700 until 2003! HA HA Polaris atvs are way overbuilt. That is why they weigh too much. They have one of the best rides on any atvs execpt for my Grizzly it has the best ride period. When are they going to stop getter bigger and bigger making atvs! Won't don't they just make a 1000 cc atv and make it cost over $10.000.00. HA HA Or you could just buy a new truck for that! Polaris Rangers cost more than some new trucks. I can't see how that is possible but they R.I.P people off selling ATVS. Either stupid or rich people buy the biggest and best just to show off.

I have to agree with Master400. If you just want to spend more money, then the BF or 800 is the right choice, but there isn't anything that they can do that the Grizzly cant do just as well. Maybe in a drag race the BF and the 800 may win by a few feet, but some how I don't think that is what people buy utility quads for.

I'm not trying to sell anyone a Grizzly, I'm just saying bigger isn't better, it just costs more.

because grizzly's are the smoothest riding quads i have ever rode. i had a choice to pick any quad in the world and i bought myself a grizzly. i took a ride on the brute and i hated it. took a ride on the sportsman...... not good. took a ride on the grizzly......love. its not about how much bigger they are because the grizzly could keep up with any of them. imo, i think the grizz is even better because its lighter and has higher ground clearance. but if u really really want a bigger machine then go with the sportsman 800.... its the next best thing to the grizz, haha.

The Grizzly is lighter and faster and better than an 01 700 Sportsman so that could be a reason why he'd want to trade.

the grizz does not have the most ground clearance what do they have about 11 and a half inches mine came with 12 and a half inches. so you are wrong there. i know that my 650 and the grizz are right on darn near the closest for power wise i take it on bottom end and top end for about 5 mph in mid range the grizz has a lil more then i take over again and i got bigger tires. when it comes to the rough and tough stuff if you are gonna drive slow get the polaris. if you are gonna ride hard and aggressive get the arctic cat if you are gonna be anywhere in between get any of the other independets. no offense towards the grizz but i did this homework a lil while ago. grizz is an awesome machine and yes it does have more get up and go then the 700 sportsman and so does the 650 cat with kawi's motor in it which is the smoothest motor on the market and i can tell ya why polaris doesn't have a v-series motor but anyways just a lil bit of input. and my 650 showed stock with 26 inch tires at doing 68 mph and i was still faster then the grizz by a lil bit so i have a hard time believing in 70 mph.

The Grizzly 660 has 11.8 inches of ground clearance any more and the center of gravity will be messed up. I've heard people putting special lift kits on their atvs that make the ground clearance almost double. A new Grizzly 660 will do 70 MPH then when the belt wears in a little it will do 66 - 68 MPH. I've heard that the Arctic Cat 650 is too big and too high. Is this the case with it. Is it very tippy feeling? Is it a twin cylinder? If it is than it should have a lot more torque than my Grizzly but that's not the case because Yamaha is the best. All of the twin cylinder big bore atvs should have a lot more power than my Grizzly but they don't just a little more power. My Grizzly will do anything any other big bore can do. Just try and let any company that makes atvs make a better single cylinder big bore. If the Grizzly had 2 cylinders it would smoke any utility quad. Because it's the best all around quad out there right now except for the Honda Rincon which only rides a little better but is not nearly as fast as the Grizzly 660.

Master, I understand your passion for the Grizzly, but you need to back up your comments with some facts. Just saying yamaha is the best doesn't really hold any water. In magazine tests, the Grizzly rates about in the middle of the pack. I believe their tests are as non-biased as you are going to get, even though some people don't believe that.
I believe the Grizzly is the best quad on the market, that is why i bought 2 of them. Others believe theirs is the best and so they should.
