.....All of the twin cylinder big bore atvs should have a lot more power than my Grizzly but they don't just a little more power. My Grizzly will do anything any other big bore can do. Just try and let any company that makes atvs make a better single cylinder big bore. If the Grizzly had 2 cylinders it would smoke any utility quad. Because it's the best all around quad out there right now except for the Honda Rincon which only rides a little better but is not nearly as fast as the Grizzly 660.
The King Quad has a single cylinder engine as well as EFI and it is quite a bit more powerful than a Grizzly so....someone has made a more powerful single cylinder Big Bore. But I'm not bashing the Grizzly just stating the facts.

I agree I think 660cc is the biggest you can make for a single cylinder anymore and it vibrates too much. I still think the Grizzly 660 is every bit as powerful as the King Quad 700. Yamaha started the big bores period. If the Grizzly was 700 cc and had fuel injection that would be a different story. That would be on equal ground then and still would win. Goodbye King Quad. I agree that the King Quad is a great atv with a slight delay in acceleration and bad shifting and reverse. It's pretty much the same size as my Grizzly 660 but my Grizzly 660 has 2 inches more ground clearance and holds 1 gallon more of gas. I wish my Grizzly 660 had fuel injection. But with every atv there is something about that is not perfect. No atv will ever be perfect but they will come close.

Bad shifting and reverse?.....The reverse problem is a dead issue a problem that was addressed and fixed a few months after the KQ was released and where'd you hear the KQ has bad shifting..I have no complaints about shifting, it works great.

Not dead issue if you have one of the defective reverse gears lurking in your transmission waiting to explode. Suzuki specifically will not fix it unless it blows up and leaves you stranded or injured.

It isn't a dead issue because I'll bet that there are still some of those defective models still sitting on dealer showrooms floors and still being sold to unsuspecting buyers. Suzuki shouldn't be given a pass on that and people buying a KQ should be aware of it not just told "oh its a dead issue don't worry about it just buy the KQ I have one and its the best ever!!!111!!1!" Also if a person is buying a used model they REALLY need be aware of it. The cost of having the dealer replace the gear if it is out of warranty is astronomical. It has been quoted on the board here and others places as over $2500 dollars to replace!

It also isn't a dead issue because it shows what Suzuki may do if some other defect crops up which is something that should give any potential buyer pause.

Yes, it is a dead issue. Suzuki recalled their old ECMs and put in different ones that put a limiter on the reverse, no matter how much you try to abuse it. So even if you have the out-of-date reverse parts, there's a limit on how much abuse you can put them through because of a new ECM. Of course Suzuki is not going to fix it until it breaks. Imagine you own a shop and someone comes to you and says "Do something about this because other people have had it break and I don't want mine to!" Master: if you're ever in central Illinois, I'll show you firsthand that your Grizzly doesn't have as much guts as a KingQuad. Don't get me wrong, a Grizz is a good machine, my friend has one. However, to say they're the same in power is a false claim. Bad shifting? What the hell are you talking about, seriously? As far as the Grizz holding an extra gallon of fuel; I ride with a Grizz as I stated earlier and he has to stop much more than I do for gas. EFI means good fuel mileage. It's almost on par with my old Rubicon.

Mag, if I were you or your dad, I would at least give the KingQuad a look. It will handle all the utility chores and play out on the trails and hills twice as well as your Polaris did.
