Well let me tell you about the Traxter.
I think it is the ONLY quad built exclusively for work. I bought it just for that. Work. I have a nut farm and I needed something I could haul my nut buggies around with. If you looks at any other brand of quad frame you will see what I'm talking about. They did not spare any metal when they built this thing. That is why they weigh so much. The only quad that comes close is a Polaris or Cat.
I don't know what you are going to do with a Traxter but if it's for only work, your getting the right quad. If it's for trail riding, I think there are better quads on the market. For work the step through is awesome. The seat is second to none. People can talk about lockers all they want. The Visco lock is the best way to make a 2x and turn it into a 4x. Lockers are old school.
If you are going to do work and trail riding then it's a toss up. You will need to figure out if you want a good ride or a tough quad for work.
The things that I don't like about the Traxter are:
Ride. Make no mistake about it, this thing rides HARSH!!! Very stiff!!!
4x4 operation. There is no turning off the 4x4 so if you want to play, you can't. Now again, if you use this quad only for work then it's fine.
I have had some nickle and dime problems with the quad. One was an oil leak out of a rear wire seal. Another was the nut came off of the choke cable. Another was a sticking gas gauge. All of these were taken care of by the dealer. No big deal, just annoying.

I know the outlander doesn't, however, the J.D. is what he asked about, and it does. Between the two, I'd go with the outlander over the J.D. just because of the slide through thing. In my honest opinion though the Bomb's are ugly without the slide through, but they are a good machine.

Which 500 Auto are you looking at. There are 2, one has a gear on gear 5 speed auto and the other is belt auto. I would recomend the gear on gear model for heavy work use. It does not shift as smooth as the belt model but I have always felt the belt drives are less work oriented do to there higher maitenance needs and lower reliability in towing heavy loads.
