Thanks, I was planning to get one of the wire feeds that use the flux core wire 'cause they are so cheap. But if they don't lay a good weld they aren't worth having. I am an adequate stick welder, I can stick two pieces of metal together but frankly, it usually aint pretty. I figure I can do a better, neater job with a wire feed or a MIG.

The flux core stuff is only good for welding outside........it splatters alot
Go with the gas and make sure you get a welder with the reostat heat and wire adjustments.
The ***** that click to set positions are always too high or too low for the work your trying to do.
At least thats the way it worked for me.

Yep, to all the above.

The "flux" in the flux core, does the same thing that the gas does, only not quite as well. If you were outside in the wind and using gas, the gas would be blown away from the weld, resulting in a poor weld. If you weld with flux core and like it, you would absolutely LOVE welding with gas.

Can anybody help me out with an idea to try to put a Reese reciever on a Brute Force 750i?? The stock setup sucks, but I am having trouble coming up with something that will keep tongue weight from being an issue. Thanks in advance.

If you have patience there is some good stuff in here including one of the best homemade bumpers I have ever seen. The rear is on page #19 and the front bumper is on page #20 (the yellow ones!) All kinds of goodies though in these pages....

After getting stuck once with nothing around to hook the winch to, I welded up a kind of plow with a loop on it. I haven't had to use it yet, but I think it will work. It is pic 5 on my photo page.
