Default Winch Confusion

If your getting the roller fairleads I would get a winch saver its basically a rubber bushing but i had problems getting my winch hook out of the rollers if i was winching by myself cause you cant really tell when to stop, and definatly get a ****** block it'll help you with off angle pulls as well. I have a warn 2.5 on my kodiak it was 60 $$ when i bought a new wheeler and it has been just fine for me.

I see on ebay also a 3500lb Venom Winch with mount for only 180 plus shipping. thats alot of pulling power. Im curious how they work and what the quailty is. Everyone Yes I know a Warn is better but I cant justify the cost of it.

I tried a champion winch...lets just say it's for sale now......bought a gorilla 2500# off ebay..but really may not install it till winter cause a tow rope works well when you ride with others

I got a Warn 2500 with my new Grizz, and am debating selling it off to get a Ramsey or something that is sealed better. It seems most say that they are not sealed all that well....Is it worth making the swap?

Unless I start having problems with my 2500 I will keep it. Next quad, though, will probably get a 3.0.

Default Winch Confusion

I had problems with the customer service with Warn, to the point I felt it was unjust. My wench was not abused and barely used and I couldn't get even a deal that I thought was even remotely fair. So I bought a champion because it's disposable and I don't need customer service because it's cheap to replace not like the Warn it's expensive to buy and fix compared to the champion. I had the champion on it for quite some time and very impressed with a 50 dollar wench. If everyone goes and buys a cheap wench maybe some of these larger companies might go and think twice and start giving out better service.... no I'm not venting LOL I invested too much time and effort when my warn broke; I should have just bought a new one rather than even trying. I was close at trying the gorilla.

Default Winch Confusion

I am a new owner of an '06 Kodiak 400 4x4 and purchased the 2000# version of this winch. Granted, I am new to ATVs and this one in particular. The install instructions seem pretty straight forward, however I have tried everything and it just doesn't fit!!! I've got the specs for the Warn 2.5 and the dimenstions of mine are almost exactly alike. Does Warn make a special size just for the Kodiak? Got it on e-bay so no return...

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

David
