I have taken some of your good advice and widened my horizons to extend beyond Yamaha and Honda. Today I rode over to my Bombardier dealer to check out 800 Outlander and for first time learned about the new 650 Outlander. These both look to have old fart cush with a lot of nice features and great performance. I will rethink Polaris, Suzi, and Kawi also. Appreciate your thoughts.

Im glad to see that you will look at the others as well I have a Outty 800 and I realy like it but on a long rides my hip starts to hurt because of the wide motor and clutch The King has a slimmer feel and I can ride longer on it Also I dont have the fatigue from the harder steering when I ride the king But dont get me wrong I like all quads I would ride a trx 90 and like it if that was all I had

tell me why Suzuki would want to recomend that time frame for replacement if they can make 5000 miles like the yamaha's do.
stretching (no pun intended) belt life isn't smart. glazed belts transfer the heat to the sheaves. eventually you will have a problem. heat hurts performance, sheaves are expensive. getting towed sucks.

I have yet to have or see a Yamaha or Suzuki belt drive fail.
I put 7,500 miles on my old kodiak.........new belt at 5,000 mile
I have 5,000 miles on my 03 grizz and the belt is still within spec.
Maybe the ones that slip the belt to get rolling and stopped have a glazing issue.....mine have never.
