Default Having a helluva time with this rocker switch

I never had this many problems installing a simple switch. anyhow on the warn switch I know the black wire is winc in. the green wire is winch out, these wires connect to the blue and yellow wires tat go to the moose winch. the red wire from the rocker goes to red wire going to the moose winch. now with all these wires connected I have one more black wire comming from the battery going to nothing(the rocker has no black wire). If I touch the black wire to the green or black wires going to the yellow or blue wire going to the winch, the winch works in that direction but not the other. What the hell is the problem, and how the hell can I get it to work............Please help before I go friggin mad......................................

I would think that the black wire from the battery would go back to your contactor. Does your winch work with the moose switch with this wire not connected? I am guessing that the black wire is coming from the negative side of the battery. If so, do you have a ground connector on the contactor?
