I'm not an owner, but I can tell you right now that nobody is going to dub any sport-utility "mean" except maybe the Bombardier Outlander 800.

Like Goblin said, most quads arent sold "mean". You have to put time and money into them to make them mean. (lifts, bigger tires, cdi, ect...) They are sold "capable of doing the task at hand for the class they are in, 400,500,650,700,800... If you want a 500 to keep up with a 700, you have to pay for it.,

Being Dubed "mean" is a matter of which topic you are talking about. It was stated by someone the bomb 800, however, if you aren't talking about speed, but say rock crawling, or mudding, or even pulling power, then it is "mean" but not the "meanest" or best. You need to be more specific on which category as to what is mean. I would say the rincon isn't "mean" in any category.

True. Whenever someone uses the term "mean" with a four-wheeler though, I always interpret it as power-wise. Something that will rip the bars out of your hands when you punch it is "mean" to me.

Hate to nit-pick, but she ain't a 700, she's a 680. I had fun on the Rincon when we tested in GA. Power and suspension are well matched. I had issues w/ the tranny-it shifted at odd times, espeacially after a jump. As for "mean", the BRP 800 is tops, engine-wise.......

Actually they are a "675cc liquid-cooled OHV semi-dry-sump longitudinally mounted single-cylinder four-stroke"

A good buddy of mine just switched up to a 06 680 Rincon EFI from his 05 650 Rincon, and he is very happy with it. He got it with a plow and was able to exercise it in the snow recently. I think they are very well built, look really cool and will be dependable machines. The only two things I'm not crazy about is that car type transmission (no low range also), which would be very expensive to fix out of warranty. Second is that Honda has stuck to the single cylinder thumper mentality. While torque might be there, low end rpm response (snap) and lower vibration is not as good as with a twin. I think the 680 EFI would have been a good time for Honda to get into the twins theme..
