Wayout, That's A classic sign of age. You said it yourself awhile back that you feel 90. Now you want powersteering on your quad. Maybe more ride time will get you back in shape, And you would feel younger. In any case keep on riding.

Gad! Another sign of old age, sent the reply prior to printing the message.
I know what Wayout is talking about. It's not just a matter of being out of shape but the onset of arthritis and years of abuse to the bod resulting in bad back, hip and other joints. There are times I would love to have an easier steering machine. Maybe it's time for a Rino or something along that line for the "bad days".

honestly I have never felt an ATV that was hard to steer...I frankly don't understand.
Are you sure your steering column/post or whatever isn't gummed up and or rusty? Is the handle bars hard to turn when the ATV is in motion? Or do you mean when your parked and trying to move the bars?
Really perhaps you can enlighten me...
I see an 04 sportsman in your sig, is this the bike that's hard to steer? I'm not sure what kind of 4x4 system it has but is the diff lock engaged or something?
That jsut isn't a complaint I've heard before.

Check your toe-out on your front end alignment. Mine was 1 1/2 inches from the factory. Spec was suppose to be 11/16". I changed to 1/2" and boy does it ever steer a lot easier. My dealer said some guys set their's up so there is no toe-out.
I originally changed mine because I was getting a lot of early tire wear from the little bit of pavement I drive. Works great now.

Get a sport quad. Way easier to steer than than a utility. I own both and theres a huge difference in effort. the sport quad is so light feeling turning the bars and also better power to use real wheels to assit turning also. For casual trail riding my predator is just as comfortable as my IRS utility quad.
