I finally put the Dyna CDI on my BF650.
Friday evening I jumped on my Brute and went for a short ride to get a good comparison of before and after. I got the bike warmed up then went back and installed the Dyna. I unplugged the Moose module. Then took the old "thing" out and replaced it with the Dyna CDI. It was very simply.
I took it for a spin and you could tell a definate difference. The biggest difference I noticed is when you are going at about half throttle and nail it. It takes off alot harder. You can feel a definate pull. I already had a the MOOSE so down low felt about the same. I could already bring the front end off the ground easy with a little throttle.
The biggest difference between the BF650 and BF750 is the mid-range power. After adding the CDI my 650 feels closer to a stock BF750. In a couple of weeks my cousins BF750 will be out of the shop and I can hopefully confirm the difference between a stock BF750 and a BF650 with CDI. According to the numbers the SRA BF650 should be at about 42hp and the BF750 should be at about 50hp so if the Dyna adds around 5hp they should run failry close.
I recomend the Dyna to anyone looking for more mid-range power. I put if off for a long time. It is well worth the money and I did not have to re-jet or anything like that. It took maybe 2min. to install. Myne cost $220 from Dynaonline but you can get them off ebay for around $190.
