Features in a Utility ATV

Here are some I'd like to see.....

Hi JD. I also believe the compression braking on some big machines I've ridden is too much for regular trail riding. I rode a Polaris 500 Sportsman last week in the Utah mountains and you can nearly get along totally without using any brakes. But you are never going to make everyone happy with this item. When I got back onto my Honda 400 EX I was much happier with the brakes and shifting. When I wanted to coast just upshift or pull in clutch. But for all day comfort you will be hard pressed to beat the Polaris and all it takes is just keep on the throttle a little longer.
Regarding features, I would like to test a full size ride say like a King Quad but equipped with the Vinson 5 speed hi-low gear box with a modern hydraulic manual clutch. Just keep the IRS and diff lock from the king. The closest you can get to this would be with the AC 500 5 speed but then you have the left hand linked brakes and auto clutch.

On my last ATV trip I rode with a guy who had mirrors that attach to the end of the grips via velcro straps, and they have a flexing stock so as not to break when you hit a branch. They worked pretty good, just wide enough to see past your elbows, with a wide field of view, and could be taken on and off in a couple of seconds.
He said he picked them up at a bicycle shop, so you might try looking around there... He said they were like $20 each.
I'd also like to find a good compass to attach on my quad, too, even though I run a handlebar mounted GPS.

Hi.
First of all it should be noted that the posting is about a utility atv in a UATV forum.
EBS is a nice feature especialy when hauling a trailer. I'm used to down shifting and using the tried and true old fasion form of engine breaking. However tha'ts hard on the trany and the brakes as well.
Things i would like to see on an uatv.
Straight rear axel
Double re-enforced trailer hitch mount.
Dual lo/lo lock sub tranny like the original suzuki king quad.
Stainless steel muffler and pipes.
Kiehnen Carburetor.
Square tubbing (1/8"thick) racks front and rear (good size racks).
Stardard full size automobile battery (in a steel box bolted to frame under seat behind motor) with on/off switch
Rear rad for liquid cooling (like traxter)
Dual mode cooling (air and liquid) just in case.
A re-enforced winch mount and shielding.
Re-enforced bumpers.
LED (luxeon) lighting front and rear.
Manual trany& sub-trany with auto clutch (NO! computer controls).
A set of real mud guards that won't loosen or tear.
Metal side guards to protect the plastic sides of the atv which are usualy the part that get's constantly hit my trees and other things.
12vDC outlet.
12vDC built in air compressor with a good lenth of 1/4" cold weather air hose and clip or screw on nozzle.
Windshield mount.
Foot rests/shields made of 1/4" thick deck plating.
Isolated electronics (low amp such as lights isolated from high amp such as winch and starter).
Steel skid plates.
Tool kit box and not a small one (like the one on the traxter).
IRS locking (a must).
That will do for now.
