True, they are not the fastest but I find them a comfortable comprimise of top speed vs longevity. Many people in rural newfoundland use ATV's everyday for work and recreation, many many have well over 20,000 miles on them and they keep on running. Not many other manafacturers have sucessfully built a bike that holds up trouble free to the conditions here.

On another note, its funny, when I bought my Forman 450 in 1998 it was the Largest bike Honda made that year!!!!

what a foolish post, but it's not your first post like that. Let's build an ATV that has enough power to be break itself - yeah that's the ticket..... has BRP even finished the Baja 1000 yet, never mind win?

The most reliable quad has more to do with who owns and maintains it, rather than which company made it.

Actually, from what I've seen, for best results you need to have both (a well engineered machine, and an owner who maintains it reasonably).

My experience, with many years of working on all brands, is that hondas can and do break, and some polariss are very tough and troublefree, providing that the owner, or someone does the upkeep.
The person who owns ands takes care of the quad, has lots more influence on whether or not its a troublefree machine, rather than what country or factory made it.

Hondabuster,

Yeah, I agree. I've seen Hondas break through no fault of the owner, and I've also seeen other brands last a long time. I've also seen quads that ended up in the shop constantly dispite being used gently and maintained properly, and a person can certainly trash even the most durable machine by abusing it or not servicing it properly.

Brpbear, Polaris is kind of funny, in that I've run into people who own several- each with thousands and thousands of hard miles and not a single problem, and I've run into other people who had all kinds of problems very early...
