warn winch problem

Default warn winch problem

when im spooling in or out my winch will change direction with out changing the postion of the rocker switch......is this normal.

its been in very deep mud.....warn told me i have to send it back to them.

thats not going to happen anytime soon.

Is there a kink in your winchline ? I,ve had mine do that a time or two but it was due to a knot in the line

i dont think it has a kink in it.......maybe tomarrow i will unspool the cable and spool it back in

i called warn a they want me to send it to them........thats not going to happen anytime soon

im down in logan west virginia with no tools and i need my winch.

Yeah warn will fix there struff I stripped the gears out on one of there winches before and had to send it off to them the sent me a new one but it took a little over a month for the turn around ....
Yeah unspool it all the way and see if theres a kink or knot somewhere.
Yeah I live in Beckley WV and I,ve been on some good rides down logan deffinatley cant be with out a winch on those trails ...

I think mudshovel is right... your winch line is probably overlapped some where and because it is pinched off when you want to pull it in as soon as the pinch rotates around it'll start to wrap the other way. I happens to me often enough... specially after tugging someting hard like myself out of 2 feet of mud or repeated use of my snow plow. Some times trying to "undo" the pinch is tuff and it might seem like the winch is frozen but it's really just binding super bad eh?!

why is it always happening to me.......ok i got the cable to unspool and i was unspooling it all the way out so i could make sure there were no kinks and cable comes off the spool.......is there nothing holding it on it didnt look cut in any way.
