Hey I'm new to this forum and to riding. I wanted to get some feedback on what you guys think for a new quad for hunting. I have heard bad things about Chinese stuff but don't want to spend a fortune on the big boys.

It would really help if you listed the conditions you will have to ride through (mud, dirt, steep hills, etc.) but I will always suggest the Suzuki Ozark 250 2 wheel drive. It is VERY quiet and is surprisingly powerful. It brings me through my swamp, up every hill, and through every stream. If you are hunting an animal like a deer, you are going to have to spend some money unless you can find a good used ATV. To drag or carry that deer or buck back home, you will want a 4 wheel drive quad so it can handle the weight of the animal easier and you won't have a real problem with traction. Some 4 wheel drive ATVs also come in camoflauge. Can you please list your spending price range?

I'm looking to spend like $3,000 and I'll prob. be in assorted types of terrain like loose rocks, dirt, not to much mud but some maybe if at a river or something. I was looking at either a Grizzly 400 or maybe this company my neighbor just bought from callled BlueRay or someting like that. Its a knock off of the yamaha.

When it comes time to get parts/accessories and trust me u will it will be allot easier to get parts for name brand quad's that a no name one's. You will thank us later when that time comes!!!!!

P.S. The Grizz is a smart choice! You might even look at a Honda Rancher 420 w/EFI!

If I were you, I'd try and get the Grizzly 400 so you can also just go trail riding with it if you ever wanted to. Don't get me wrong, the Honda will also do trails but the Grizzly has Independent Rear Suspension which gives you more ground clearence and a smoother ride. Put some 26" ITP Mudlite XTRs on it once your tires wear out, and you will be all set for pretty much any terrain there is, except 5 foot deep mud holes that is!
