why dont you just weld it right on to your quad? if you ever need to get it off, use a torch.

LOL, I'm not easy on it either, but they are pretty sturdy, plus I can get new ones at Princess Auto (canada) for less then $15.
If you want to make a tube style bumper, most that I've seen are just 2 parallel tubes spaced 1.5-2" apart with legs extending from the bumper to the frame and actually attching to the bike with u-bolts. Check out www.sledsooley.com for pics, could be anywhere on the summer pages and you'll see pics of my rear bumper that I bought wiht the bike new in 1998.
