QUICK DUMP QUESTION
A ****** block can mainly do two different things for you:
#1. It can change the direction of the pull. I had to winch out a friend when he was stuck. I couldn't get in front of him so I tied the ****** block to a tree and winched at a 90 degree angle.
#2. If you run the winch cable through the ****** block then back to your ATV it doubles the pulling force. A 2,000 pound winch will pull 4,000 pounds. A 2,500 pound winch will pull 5,000 pounds.

BE CAREFUL with those things. remember, if you can pull 3000 with your winch and 6000 with it rigged to the ****** block you have to make sure that your block is rated for at least twice the pulling capacity of your winch. you dont have to worry about hte cable becuase the load is divided by the number of runs that you have. but the block carries 100 percent of the load devided by the number of blocks that you have. Ususally its just one block so...
anyway make sure your ****** block is rated for twice the capacity of the winch. The rating should be right on the block.
they call it a ****** block instead of just a block becuase you can disconnect the side of it and insert the "middle" of the cable run. This is particularly handy becuase it would be impossible to run the bitter end with hook on it through a regular block, (unless the block was very very big)

also keep in mind your winch's capability varies depending on how much of the cable is left on the spool. I highly encourage everyone (experienced or not) to read this manual to help better educate yourself on proper winching techniques...
