Actually, no. What it says on your ATV is wrong. I know that both Polaris and Arctic Cat use the term "2x4" to describe a "4x2" drive-train because it rolls off your tongue a little smoother, but it's not correct. The first number indicates how many wheels a vehicle has and the second number indicates how many are powered.

We have 2 06 Hawkeyes and haven't had any issues with them. My brother in law has the Recon, he hasn't had any issues either. The Hawkeyes ride smoother and climb a lot better. The Recon is lighter and quicker.
