Salt spreader

Salt spreader
I want to avoid spending money on a piece of junk.
I'm about to buy a salt spreader for the quad. I'd much rather spend $500 on a GOOD spreader, than $250 on a NOT SO GOOD spreader. I would appreciate input from anyone who has been down this road. If you bought a GOOD spreader, what kind did you buy and what do you like about it? On the other hand if you bought a NOT SO GOOD spreader, what did you buy and what don't you like about it?
I'm undecided on getting a pull behind type or one that mounts on the back! I have a 500 foot asphalt driveway and I'm done salting by hand!!!!! I plan to build a storage bin inside the garage where I can back in to fill the hopper and go. In the past I've staged garbage cans of salt on the side of the drive, the salt would freeze and clump together, what a pain. The garage is heated so I think I have that problem solved. I realize salt on asphalt isn't a good thing, I only salt when it means the difference between driving up to the house or parking at the bottom and walking.
Thanks in advance for any input.

Salt spreader
I use a scotts broadcast spreader that I push by hand. Cherokee99 is absolutely right. Another option might be to find a pull behind broadcast spreader and put some type of barrier ie; piece of tin, large piece of rubber, to keep salt from being thrown under quad. Even at that I would take a garden hose and rinse the underneath of the quad really good when done. A $30 spreader that you push by hand is a lot easier to watch rust than a $7000 quad.
