you can save money and buy a bruteforce or sportsman and then buy something else with the leftover money, like tires, clutch kit etc. better investment IMO.

I agree. Can-Ams are too expensive. Every ATV has it's good and it's bad points and IMO Can-Ams aren't special enough to justify the price. I'd buy something else, load it with accessories, and use any money that's left for gas. But if you just want a fast 500, and money isn't an issue, then the Outty is a very good choice.

IMO if you are going to spend good money on a Can-am there best deal deal is the 650. If you have not rode one yet do yourself a favor and give one a test drive you wont be dissapointed!

I have the outlander 500 max xt, I test drove the 650 and really could not feel a big difference so I thought I would go with the 500 to save some fuel and weight.
I know top end speed is faster on the 650 but not sure about the rest.
I ride double on mine 90% of the time and it handles great, smooth ride and fast.
The last 3 weekends playing in the snow racking up the miles and the stock tires on the XT do great in the mud and snow, they clean themself very good and you wont need four wheel drive unless climbing steep stuff. This thing wont spin unless you just want to show off.
I love all atvs, put 5500 mile on my rancher ( what a rock), my brothers has a sportsman 500 and loves it.
Buy what you really want and take care of it, They all are good you cant go wrong.
