I am looking for a utility quad that would be mostly plowing snow. A few inches to a foot of the white stuff. I am thinking about a 2004 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO in excellent condition. Could someone tell me if this quad is good or if I should look into a different 500 cc atv and which one? Thanks

 

Would make an excellent plow machine. Has weight for traction, true AWD, nice shift pattern, just pop the selector from L to R no fishing through gears. Plenty of power.

 

This is my 11th winter plowing with a Sportsman 500. It gets the job done and makes it fun. When we had "the storm of the century" that shut down Detroit for a week it snowed even worse here. I plowed my street with a 500 H.O. a week before the city plow trucks got here. The whole block was done but the rest of the city was a mess until the next week.
