Would say start with local dealer as well, get an idea of what you want and prices.
Than do some shopping. You will find that most plows all do well if your just plowing snow. If you start pushing soil/gravel you might want to get a slightly better/heavier plow. Some advertise for the dual purpose in mind.
There are lots of choices. Once you think you have narrowed it down, post another topic asking what the good and bad are for each type from peoples experience. That will usually point you in the right direction.

i got my 3000lb warn winch off ebay, contractor and handel bar switch off ebay, mounting plate off ebay, snow plow made by me. iv never got noting from the dealer cept the wheeler. i save a bit of money getting it off ebay. never had a problem yet.
