Sportsman 6x6 riders?
#4
The new IRS 6x6 looks awesome, the 800 has to be a little hard on gas though.
Trail riding is actually very nice, smooths out the bumps really well with the longer wheelbase.
A guy can get way too comfy climbing hills with them though, with the 3rd axle as a wheelie bar you'd almost have to be vertical to flip it but if it ever went it would be ugly.. I swapped with my brother and tried out his Sportsman 600 for a bit and it just about scared the living poo outta me when the front end came up while cresting a hill..
My only complaints are the low ground clearance which they fixed with the IRS and it can be a challenge to get out of a rut once your in deep but I think tires with some sidewall traction would help that alot.

I'd like to see one outfitted with tracks in the back. It would be something like a WW2 halftrack or the German Kettenkrad which was a cross between a tank and a motorcycle.
You could even put a set of tracks up front. I'd bet that would be unstoppable on hills or in the mud. Even with the heavy weight of the 6x6 the ground pressure would be really spread out.
It would make for one really pricey machine though.

I really thought about buying a 6x6 (no matter the engine size or year) before I got the 800. But I realize, I would actually find it boring if I could just sit there and go over stuff. Wheelies, getting jossled around, and basically all the aspects of a 4 wheeler vs 6 wheeler just make it more entertaining. I'm all for the threat of wheeling trying to climb something >
