As an owner of both, YZ400F and 00' Kodiak
I can tell you.
The Head and both cams, the Jug or Have an
extra exaust port machined into the stock
Jug, the Cam Chain to fit the Double Cams,
the Ignition plate and Box.
That Should, I hope (am not sure if I'm correct about this), bring you close enough
to the YZ's state of tune, so no other 4X4
can touch you.
The one thing I'm sure about is the Belt
and Tranny, YES they can take the Power Increase, but forget about the Warranty.
Good luck

Boner, you are right. The cluch and driven pully would need serious atention. Unlike transmissions with gears CVTs need to be tuned to the engines rpm power curve. My guess is you would need new springs, ramps, and helix. The YZ400-426 makes 45 plus hp at around 10,000 rpm, while the Kodiak only makes around 20hp at a much lower rpm. I'm sure the cluches can structurally handle the added performance, but with out the proper tuneing of the cluches you would be wasting your money on the motor. My question to you, does anyone make the hi performance cvt parts for this type of modification? If not I would hold out on any serious engine mods until they do.
