I thought they were like $6800 or so? That is a great deal if you can get it for $6100. The 650 makes for a better sport trail ride, but not quite as plush as the Sportsman.

MegaCrash,

The 650 is not at all uncomfortable. But the 500 HO is a very smooth, comfortable ride. Both are awesome ATV's. Here on the ND/MN border they both go for less than what I have seen elsewhere.

650 $6,100
500HO RSE or DU $6,500 (winch included)
500 HO $5,850
SP700 $6,319
Grizz 660 $6,400

All prices out the door excluding sales tax. I live in MN, bought the 650 in ND, did not pay tax, then registered it in MN. Used the tax savings to get an extended warranty. As you can see I really did my shopping and had a very difficult decision to make before actually acquiring my first ATV.

I would choose a Artic Cat 500i over a Polaris! You can get it with an auto or manual tranny!

He wants a ATV WITH speed not one that cant keep up, unless the guy he is trying to keep up with is walking.

I rode a Artic Cat 500i. I thought it had great power. It also had the big Vampires on it. It cost alot less than the Prairie 650 & I am not sure, but I bet it is faster than the Polaris 500HO that was recommended in a previous post.

Actually the cat 500i is quite a bit slower then a 500HO. The Suzuki Rincon has the "Hot Rod Version" of the same motor in the cat 500i, and the Rincon is about the same, performance wise as the 500HO.

FYI, The Cat 500i is a nice ATV. Great low-end torque but very slow. The 500 HO will eat it for lunch any day in a race. I test drove one before getting my 650 and noticed considerable lack of acceleration compared to other quads. However, with its nice price tag I may be getting one for my wife. I do like it!
