Anybody have any luck writing your ATV off your taxes as a working tool or farm equipment? My tax man thinks it will send up a red flag with the IRS , you have to prove it’s a working tool for your business. How in the %&#@ do you do that!! You can write off a million dollar boat, but not a couple of ATVs. I don’t get it.

Ya i have done this for years!! I even used my snowmobile as a cow checker for a couple years and wrote that off also. On my taxes i say i use my 4 wheeler 75% for work and 25% for play and i never get checked. Lots of people do this in north dakota as this is a big cattle state and atv's are a major help on the farm. When i put my snowmobile on for checvking cows my tax man said it might raise a red flag but it didnt and it has been 5 years since i have done this and no problems. The irs cant do a thing if you use it for your business or farm, it is a tool!!
