3-POINT HITCH??
#1
I've got a '99 Sportsman 500 and would like to get a few farm type implements for it: grader box, disc, rake, etc. But the only thing I can find is a 3-point hitch sold by Cycle Country. They want $700 for the hitch alone, is there anything else out there? And if so, where and how much?
Also wondered if anyone has bought one of these hitches, how complicated would it be to make one? Any ideas or a close-up picture of the 3-pt hitch would be appreciated!!

Polaris accesories has a full line of 3-point goodies. Blades, cultivators, discs, etc.. They should have what you are looking for. I am not sure on the price, they aren't to complicated but time comsuming to build. You end up bolting your suspension solid (in the rear) to compensate when lifting the implement off the ground. If you didn't do this it would just sag to the ground under the weight. I know something about this I had a job interview at the company that supplies Polaris with some of their accesories.

Here are a couple of links for some pull behind implements:

One thing to keep in mind...the 3 point hitch basically locks your rear suspension. It attaches between your rear axle and your rear rack, and doesn't allow the suspension to work. Could make for a bumpy ride, depending on the soil you're tilling. The 3 point might be better in smaller cramped areas, but if you have the room, I'd probably opt for the pull behinds.
