Default what's the best winch?

what's the best winch in everyone's opinion? Also, are there any winches which don't require running those big ugly wires all over the top of the bikes fenders like I've seen on so many people's atvs?

ok, i have a ramsey 2500 remote and it works great, my brother and friends have warn 2000's and they work great to. ramsey is said to have less draw from the battery and work a little faster but i cant tell the difference. all i can say is always watch to not kink the cable. as for the ugly wires on the fendersi have never seen a atv with winch wires on the fenders always under. if you install it take your time. i did mine and it came out great cant see any wires all under fenders and side covers and everything is zip tied up nice and tight and where a wire looks like it may come in contact with something hot i put that plastic covering over the wires( like corregated black harness) and ramsey came with a small toggle switch where ( i have a honda rubicon) i ran the wires up through the hole for the handle bars drilled a small hole and mounted the switch. it looks like it was part of the quad out of the factory. i think they r all good, anything that gets u out of a hole is good, but take your time installing it, it makes a difference.

I went with Warn because I felt they were the best name in winches. I have a Warn 2500 and a Warn 3.0ci. I've been real happy with both. The 3.0 is sealed and supposed to be waterproof. One friend had a 2000lb Superwinch that he was not real happy with. He had problems with the cable getting between the drum and the winch.

i stripped out 1 of warns a2500 winches. i replaced it with a rule 3300 winch, it sounds so much better. i used the wiring of the warn on the rule, remote and all. i gave my friend the warn and the wiring for the rule and he bought the part needed to fix the warn. he put it on his polaris. i like the way the rule is made better, you can pick it up and tell there is steel in there, no plastic or rubber. plus its a marine winch so its waterproof as can be

i have the warn 2500 and it has not let me down yet. very powerful and fast. water does not seem to effect it so far. as far as the wiring, there are ways to wire any winch without the ugliness of wires all over the place. i let my dealer install it and he did a pretty good job.

I am happy with my new WARN 2.5 2500lb winch. The new style rocker switch is small and pretty compact. It mounts to your handle bars and is a really slick operation.
