Default 1971 Mercury Rocket Snowmobile

I have my grandparents old Rocket at my house and I am wanting to get it back in good running order so my kids and I can enjoy it. If it ever snows in Va again. Does anyone know of any good online stores or websites that maybe able to help me out. I tried several places and it seems like they do not want to deal with the old vintage things anymore.
The electrical system has a bunch of wires that the insulation is comming off and such. I would like to keep it original if I can and not rig it up with to much modern stuff and ruin the old looks.
Thanks

Over a hundred views and no one has a source for Mercury? I really hate to start cutting wires, this thing is all original. Even has Mercury written on the key.

if it's just a wiring harness, upgrading the harness wire by wire would be ideal and you could custom run it where needed. just a thought.

i reckon you've done tried this website?

Mercury Snowmobile Parts

just tryin to help.

I am fine with replacing wire by wire as needed, I was pretty sure I would have to do that in a couple of places anyway.
I tried that website the other day and the catalog was down, tried again this morning and the catalog was down but I did find some parts lists.
I will just have to cross reference some numbers. I am wanting to install electric start on it. I am going to make it separate from the factory wiring and hide the wires and button under the hood.
Thanks for the information.

Never heard of the Rocket model. The Merc Sno-Twisters were a fast sled back in the day though...
