I moved to the Dallas area from Oklahoma 2 years ago. It is hard to believe, but the best riding I can find is out of state. I've been to Mena 3 times, Lake Murray Oklahoma all the time, and riding the Red River west of Wichita Falls on Hwy 281 a few times as well. I've tried Grapevine lake once, Red River ATV park once, Poole ranch once, Fun Wheeler park once, and a small place in The Colony a couple of times, but I really want is some sand. I still go up to Little Sahara a 4-5 times a year with buddies, but need something closer to home.

TexMudder's site has been a big help. Seems like there should be some folks around here with land to ride on.

dusty1, here is my guess....the enviro nazzis are drawn to your state because of the big oil companies. The big companies buy their way out of everything so the enviro nazzis pick on the easy targets such as off roaders.

Predator- you are right. Fun Wheeler Park is a sport quad hell. I had a rough day when I went there.

The Honobia area sounds real interesting. We like to take long rides and camp along the way. Is Camping permitted in the Honobia area? Are there other restrictions one needs to be aware of? Such as age of riders, helmets, etc?

You can camp anywhere inside of Honobia or Three Rivers. Of the two I prefer Three Rivers. Just dont block any roads with your truck. As far as restrictions go the only one I know of is the speed limit of 30MPH. The map for the area has all the rules on the back of it.
