great! i know these things take a little time to find out 'who' and 'what' as i have been investigating property up here.. ..$200 /yr isnt that much to ride in a decent spot. now that barney has gone up to $20/bike and the time and gas i spend driving there, I easily spend $100 per trip everytime i go.
That gets expensive! anyway, let me know when to pay and where to send it to..

how may guests will be allowed per member?
i know we cant ever refer to it as a 'riding area' but, do you think anyone will get suspicious if they see us pulling in with banshees, 250Rs and stuff? those are obviously not hunting bikes!

i know we all know this but insurance or not, safety has to be enforced and we need to keep noise down if we want this place to stay open. noise is ususally the #1 reason places get shut down.

BTW: is this the same arial photo you showed before of the paradise or was that the one being tied up in the estate?

the original paradise i went to, and showed a picture of, is in fact the property tied up in the estate dispute... it would still be the best spot, because it is more isolated from the adjacent properties..
As to the noise, and safety, yes we are going to have to keep it sane, if we want to keep it.

This property is bordered on the south by some property that is leased to TXI gravel company, and to the north by the lakes you see on the pic..

I am going to try to get in to see the gentleman early next week.. I will keep yall posted.

Guests.. I would say it is still a little premature to try to figure out that just yet.. If this guy is still interested in leasing, I think it would be a good move to have the members go around to all the adjacent property owners with our hats in our hands and introduce ourselves and provide all of our cell phone numbers to them in case they have any problems, they can call us directly.. show them some love and respect, and maybe they will tolerate a touch more noise.. I am sure the old people that own the little grocery store there will appreciate the business I am sure we will bring, but they are an ornery pair...

Hi! I am new to the game of sport atv riding. Even so, I can already tell that this is going to be a passion that will consume all of my free time.
I've read all of your suggestions for a new riding place going back as far as July. I am very intrested in what ya'll are trying to do and would like to contribute to your plan in any way I can.
For a little FYI on this very subject, there is an article in the Sept. 03' issue of Dirtwheels magazine titled "How to get big $$$s for your trail project". There might be some possible leads on how to get additional funds, if needed.

 

Update: Property owner was out of town last week, have left message for him to return my call Monday, will let you all know how that goes.

Keep us informed Shane! After Barney has gone up in prices and started the new, I'm still, more than ever wanting to find a new riding area. Been trying to get moved so I havent been on much for about a month but now I'm back.

I finally got in too see that guy that owned that property in Grangeville that I have been working on so long.. well, he said he gave permission to a guy to FISH on the property, and didnt want to mess over that guy.. hes letting him fish there for FREE and Im sure this guy wont fish in the winter during hunting and prime riding season.. So I have to start over. Would you post this on the new riding area post that we were all on, I have lost the thread.. Im pissed.. Alot of work for nothing, well at least I have an insurance agent Ive hooked up with that can help us, if we can locate the property.. ")

I found out who own the Dunes but Barney jus5t signed a new lease with the guy for 5 years!
