Anyone have any imput for riding areas close to Il. area (60 miles south of Chicago)? Currently we drive to Attica In. Or the Wisconsin area?

 

jad, I found a teriffic riding area this weekend in Michigan City IN. It is nearly all dunes. It is located right across the street from the state prison. It's about 200-400 acres I would guess. I just bought a modified 99 Banshee and I rode so hard Saturday I could hardly get up Sunday morning. This place rips. I've read you already go to Attica. I havn't been yet but I have a trip planned in late June. Have you ever been to Silver Lake MI? I've taken my 4x4 truck there a few years ago. I have a set of paddles for the Banshee and have a trip planned for Silver Lake in late August. If you like dunes Silver Lake is a great weekend trip.

the owners of this place have told the local police to tow all trucks!!! do not tell the people just tow the trucks!! we where out there 2 weeks ago and one of the cops pulled up and offered us a warning. he said the owners also hired 2 off duty officers to watch the area. this is all due to the riders that continue to litter and dump on these properties. this has also happened to the area in the gary/miller indiana area. it really sucks for us locals that have been riding there for years.

sorry about the confusion. I was refering to the michigan city area.

I have also been up to silver lake! thats alot of fun!! tons of room and lots of people to meet. lots of cool rides to check out to! i would suggest going for a long weekend during the summer. the surrounding area is also very nice.
