Anyone on this forum from Texas? I'm new to this sport and was wondering if someone knows of good riding spots. I would like to find a track that is setup for novice racing too, but I'm not sure if there are specific atv tracks or do they use the motocross tracks. I'm located near Austin.

I'm from the Dallas area and there are several places to ride around here. Not sure about areas around Austin. Check out this site for help in locating a place and drop a line if you want to ride in the Dallas area...

With so many tree huggers in Austin it may be a tough place to find good ridding areas. There would defenitely be some good places to ride if you could get access.

As far as your question about ridding areas..
I don't know of any around Austin.

There is a guy on this forum and his name "quad-man" that is from Austin and I beleive he would be a good one to hook up with. Also a guy that goes by "Mudmachine" that is from Kilgore that would be someone to hook up with and go ridding.

I know of a place in Bastrop. It is not very big so, I don't know if it would be worth the drive from Rockdale. I have been there (Bastrop) recently. It was right against the Colorado river.

Let me know if you are interested, I'll get the directions for you. I am from Ft. Worth so I don't know that area well enough to give the directions without confirming them with my buddy who lives down there.

I am in Austin. I'll e-mail you privatly, but for the record... There isn't really anywhere to ride in Austin unless it's private land w/permission, which is pretty rare.

Some guys race ATV's in Bastrop, but I haven't been there. They race on the dirt bike track.

Bastrop isn't that far from me. How big is it...miles, acres? I would be interested in directions.

Thanks,
Steve

Most motorcycle shops know about it because they race there, I would contact someone around you. I don't know anything about it.
